About Us

OUR STORY

In the 1990s, a journey through Oregon and Washington ignited my passion for craft beer, leading to the discovery of unique brews like Pyramid Apricot Ale and Oregon Honey Beer. This newfound interest deepened with hoppy styles such as Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and Stone IPA. Eager to delve into the art of brewing, every available resource on the subject was devoured. A visit to a local homebrew shop resulted in the purchase of my first kit, and the first batch was brewed - an experience that proved captivating.

During an era when IPAs were scarce, I was a focused on making that style at home. My hobby flourished over the years, leading to significant equipment upgrades and the transformation of my garage into a fully equipped home brewery. The space featured a mill, temperature-controlled fermentation vessels, kegerators with multiple taps, etc. Sharing my beer at local events, competitions, and with neighbors provided invaluable feedback and fostered a sense of community.

At one of these gatherings, a conversation with my business partner, Blake unfolded. He expressed strong interest in the brewing endeavors, and discussions about a shared dream began. A partnership was formed, driven by a mutual desire to unite people in our rural community, support local causes, and make good beer.

OUR NAME

In Norse mythology, Odin’s two ravens, Huginn (“thought”) and Muninn (“memory”), hold significant meaning regarding community dynamics. The ravens would fly across the world each day, gathering information and reporting back to Odin, symbolizing the vital roles of thought and memory in maintaining societal cohesion and wisdom.  The presence of the two ravens underscores the importance of communication and the exchange of knowledge within a community. Their daily flights represent the continuous flow of information necessary for a society to function effectively. In essence, Huginn and Muninn embody the foundational elements of a thriving community: open communication, shared knowledge, and the preservation of collective memory. We are proud to have created a welcoming space for the community to gather and enjoy. The name Two Ravens seemed the perfect choice.

OUR LOCATION

The search for the ideal location led to a rural spot on the outskirts of town that perfectly aligned with our vision. Securing this location marked the beginning of a two-year journey to obtain the necessary licenses and permits, including a time-consuming and costly conditional use permit. The buildout process, though challenging, was both enjoyable and fulfilling. An office building was transformed into a brewery and taproom, complete with a 3-barrel brewhouse. Our taproom features a 25-foot redwood slab bar, 24-taps, a stage for live music and entertainment, a seating area for over 80 guests, and games like darts and shuffleboard.
